During the years that the Taliban was in power, they continued to teach their daughters at home, even though it was against the law. Khalid is a top student in his class and he hopes to change his country.

Children’s Development Bank:Fourteen-year-old Khalid Wardag founder of the Children’s Development Bank at Aschiana an Afghan organization devoted to helping street children and those who come from poor and underprivileged homes.

The money from The Children’s Development Bank is held for its young clientele at the World Bank. Being the fifth child from a typically large Afghan family of seven, Khalid, like his brothers and sisters work to support the family.  Khalid has an older brother named Timur Shah, and three sisters; Helay, Malalai, Orzalla.  He and his siblings live with their parents, Zamarak and Rabia, in a one-bedroom apartment in Kabul City.

21 April 2005 - Queens, NY – Al-Khoei Shiite Mosque a Muslim woman in between her afternoon prayer. The Imam Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation is an international, religious, charitable institution established by the Late Ayatullah Seyyid Abulqasim Al-Khoei seventeen years ago.

The New York Center is one of the branches of the Foundation which has its headquarters based in the United Kingdom .The present building of the center was opened on 15th Shabaan 1409 A.H. (March 25,1989) in order to meet the religious needs of the Muslim community in United States.
The religious programs are conducted in this Center in various languages: Arabic, Urdu, Persian and of course English. Â It has a well-stocked reference and lending library, a conference room, huge prayer hall and a funeral bath facility.

The Center, since its inception has been providing religious and charitable services to the community of believers by way of congregational prayers, observance of joyous and sorrowful occasions associated with the Prophet and his Ahlul-Bait and guidance in matters of religious beliefs and actions.
