HOW MY STORY BEGAN...
Ever since I could remember I wanted to see the world and make a difference. Photojournalism was the perfect fit. I honed my skills in New York City working for all the major players; Newsweek, Associated Press and Sipa Press and then 911 happened. A few years later, I went to the middle east to teach photography to Afghan women. It opened my eyes and changed my life. Despite all the injustice, the world was full of potential and I realized that I could have a positive impact. When I returned home, I was sent on assignment by National Geographic Magazine, to a Native American Reservation to document the effects that the Casino was having on the Tribe. What began as a short photo essay, ended up resulting in a five-year investigative report on the inner workings of the Tribe, the Casino and the Politics of a contemporary Reservation.
